Fence Maintenance - To preserve the life of your cedar fence

fence staining Southlake TX

Apply Sealant or Stain

 - Use a quality cedar sealant or stain to protect the wood from moisture and UV rays.

 - Apply the sealant or stain according to the manufacturer's instructions.

 - Reapply as needed, typically every 2-3 years.

Protect from Moisture

- Ensure proper drainage around the fence to prevent water pooling.

- Trim vegetation near the fence to allow better air circulation.

- Avoid direct contact with sprinklers or other water sources

Trim foilage

   - Trim overhanging branches or vines that could trap moisture against the fence.

   - Keep foliage away to allow the wood to dry properly.

Elevate the Fence

- If possible, raise the bottom of the fence slightly above ground level.                                                                                - This helps prevent direct contact with soil and reduces the risk of rot.
